Lara's theme
Maybe it's just because I'm Russian but I find Doctor Zhivago to be one of the most beautiful films of all time. Granted, the film doesn't exactly take the moral high ground and when looking upon closer inspection it's about a guy cheating on his wife (Yuri leaves Tonya for Lara) but the music, costumes, setting and plotline, everything just contributes to a romantic atmosphere. While watching it I re-recognised my love for furry Cossack hats and big winter coats, secretly wishing it was December and I was in the middle of a Siberian steppe. Oh well, a girl can dream.

I can agree with you about the music and costume, they are indeed very nice. I want to ask though: Is that movie Russian? If so, which year is this movie? I want to add as well that the first picture with the lovely dress is spectacular and the fur hats looks lavish, war and cozy. Thanks for visiting my blog! :)
ReplyDeleteThe movie is British adapted from a Russian novel by Boris Pasternak. It was made in 1965, at the height of the cold war so that's why it couldn't be shot in Russian :) x
DeleteClassic style and movie!

Strut Mode

ReplyDeleteThose are some nice outfits doll!*
ReplyDeleteLove the 2nd one!*

I feel sorry for you staying in freezing Europe right now, but we had deep snow a year ago and I know that. Fur coats are great for frost, but I like husar's uniforms and cossacks jackets. Of course Doctor Zhivago is classy movie and book, with stunning costumes as well as Russian fur coats:]] Very useful.
